Santa Cross/SoCal Cyclocross Series Final Press Release

THE FOURTH ANNAUL SANTA CROSS CYCLOCROSS RACE AND SO CAL CYCLOCROSS SERIES FINALE

December 18, 2005 at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA
Hosted by Scary Fast Racing and the Amgen Cycling Club

Santa says, "This year, NO GIFTS!"

Here she comes. The grandmother of cyclocross to southern california culture. The event where the best cyclists in the world come for some fun in the sun and a grueling, eye-crossing course that would make Roland Liboton cry. And of course for the fourth straight year our beloved winter wonderman, Christopher G. Kringle aka Santa Claus will be poised on the line ready for battle. We had an opportunity to speak with Old St. Nick who we ran into at the Univ. of Channel Islands while doing our Wednesday night cross practice . Santa will be poised on the line to achieve what he claims will be his greatest achalade. To take a winners leap onto the podium and immortality. Four years of trying with no success has left Santa a wee bit bitter. The best he has produced is second place last year to a semi celebrity/ semi bike racer and now semi Californian. You may have heard of him, Lance Armstrong. "Yeah, Lance came out last year and stepped up to the plate and raced cross,... like a man." Kringle said, "He was a little shaky contemplating TDF win #7 and was lacking some winter motivation so I let the win go,... You know, to give the kid some confidence. He needed it. But this year. NO GIFTS! I am taking no prisoners! And when that whistle blows, I am launching off the front and I am not looking back. Not for Lance, not for Santa #2 not for Santa #3 or #4 or #5, #6, #7, #8, #9 or those little kiss ass elves I have working for me. They're not serious about racing, they all came down with me hoping to score with some velo-bella girls."

And what's a cross race without music and food. We have a live jazz band who will be playing your favorite x-mas tunes while you drink your Firestone Ale and dine on the best bbq in L.A. Plus a raffle to raise funds for our prodigal son, Chance Noble (Tm Scary Fast) who will be going to europe to race the World Cup.

This years course is again at the world famous Pierce College in Woodland Hills. Home of the Brahmas. MOOOO! The course loop will this time go clockwise giving spectators a more enjoyable view of the challenging parcours. This course is so UBER Cross you would think that our governator designed it and took it to the gym for some pumpatude. The 1.8 mile course has four, count them. Four run-ups. Short climbs, a water crossing, twisty turns and short drop-offs. All designed to assure that the best athlete will rise to the occasion. "Yeah and that athlete is me!" Said a surprisingly out of character Saint Nick. And as he ran and remounted with ease to the saddle of his Felt F1-X he rode off into the night. And we could hear him say, " A merry Cross-mas to all and to all that show up Dec. 18th your #%@*% meat!"
