2nd annual Lion of Fairfax cyclo-cross race set for Saturday, 29 September

Wednesday, 22 September 2007, Fairfax, CA - For Immediate Release

2nd annual Lion of Fairfax cyclo-cross race set for Saturday, 29 September, with
pre race cross clinic the week before.

Last year’s inaugural White Hill Middle School Cyclo-Cross Race, in Marin County, is
back for 2007. All proceeds from the race are being donated to White Hill Middle
School to help fund necessities which are now treated as extras in today's world of
tightening budgets. A pre race, cross clinic, will be held on Saturday, 22 September, at
the race site (White Hill Middle School) at 10 AM. Instruction on proper cyclo-cross
technique will be offered by top riders.

With Team Dolcevita Cycling stepping up to co-promote the race with Big Swingin’ Cycles
of San Francisco, and the White Hill Parent Club, additional resources have been
added to improve the event. $5000 (and counting) prize purse - cash and merchandise,
awards for top 5 in category AND “mediocre” the person finishing mid pack in his / her
category - an award for “the common man” so to speak. There will be changes to the
course promising to make it more fun and challenging for racers, says race organizer,
Brian Bruckner of Big Swingin’ Cycles in San Francisco. Parents and kids in the Ross
Valley School District will also be competing for “bragging rights” in a competition within
the competition for the “Top Cross” school in the district.

Youngsters will once again get a chance to test their cross skills in one of the best cross
kids’ races anywhere. Separate categories exist for kids 6-9, who will do one complete
lap of the approx. 1.7 mile course, 10-13 (2 laps) - as well as an official Juniors (10-17)
category - for those serious enough to want to do a full 30 minutes.
