CCCX #4 This Sunday At The Former Army Base Of Ft Ord.

Congratulations to all the District Champions and BASP Series winners, and everyone who took part in the past weekends events!

The CCCX Series will host its race #4 this coming Sunday Dec. 10 in the East Garrison area of Ft Ord. The race route will be similar to CCCX race #2 held there on Oct 1, but some new editions will be added to spice up the action.

The weather looks to be ideal for Cyclocross with possible moisture and precipitation expected to liven up the racing exploits. This area of Ft Ord has a very hard packed surface and the ground handles water and rain very well. Last year, a strong storm hit during this event and it made for a epic day of Cyclocross racing.

With the Surf City Series finals taking place on Saturday in Watsonville, it looks to be a great weekend of racing in Monterey and Santa Cruz counties.

The CCCX Series would like to thank its Sponsors who all make an effort to keep the racing going on the Central Coast: Fox Racing Shox, Ritchey, The Vitamin Shoppe, WTB, Family Cycling Center, Calabazas Cyclery, Trail Head Cycles, Joselyns, Castro Valley Cycles, Pegasus Bicycle Works, Scotts Valley Cycle Sport, Cal Giant Inc., Monster Energy, Hot Shoppe Design Factory.

From Hwy 1 North of Monterey, or heading South toward Monterey take the "Lightfighter" Exit (this exit name just changed from "Fort Ord Main Entrance" to "Lightfighter.") Exit is located just North of Seaside and just South of Marina off Hwy 1.
Take the Lightfighter exit off of Hwy 1 and continue straight thru 2 stop lights approx. 1/2 mile.
At the third stop light turn right onto Gen. Jim Moore Blvd. Take Gen. march madness Jim Moore Blvd for 1/4 mile.
At the first stop light turn left onto Gigling Rd. Go straight on Gigling Rd. for 1 mile.
After 1 mile on Gigling you come to a stop sign, go straight and follow the CCCX race signs to parking 2.5 miles ahead. PLEASE Drive slowly! Do not drive faster than 25 MPH please! This is a closed area and the roads are narrow and it is very important to not drive faster than 25 MPH when anywhere on the former Army Base of Ft. Ord.
